StudentHabits is a free app that helps students build habits and stay on top of school. We keep only what the app needs to work. We don't show ads, we don't use trackers or analytics, and we never sell your data.

What we keep

  • Your account: your email address and a password (stored scrambled, so nobody can read it). If you sign in with Google, Google shares your name, email and profile picture with us.
  • What you put in the app: your name, school level, habits, to-dos, timetable, grades, deadlines, flashcards, applications, CV, budget, pets and the rest. It's saved in your account so it works on all your devices, and a copy stays in your browser so the app works offline.
  • Groups: the groups you join, your messages, shared tasks, links, notes and files.
  • Reminders: if you turn on reminders, a code for your device so we can send them, and the list of reminders to send.
  • School calendar links: if you add one, the link itself. Our server fetches it for you so new deadlines can appear.

Who can see it

  • Only you can see your own data. The database checks this on every request.
  • People in a group with you see your name, what you post in that group, and two numbers: your XP this week and which days you checked in. Nothing else.
  • We (the people who run StudentHabits) can technically reach the database to fix problems. We don't look at your data unless you ask us to help with something.

Services we use

These companies run parts of StudentHabits for us and only handle your data to do that job:

  • Supabase: our database, sign-in and file storage, on servers in Frankfurt, Germany.
  • Cloudflare: hosts the website.
  • Google: only if you choose "Sign in with Google".
  • Brevo: sends account emails, like confirming your email or resetting your password.
  • Your browser's push service (from Google, Apple, Mozilla or Microsoft): delivers reminders to your device.

Lists of universities, scholarships and internships come from public sources. We fetch them on our server and match them to you inside your browser, so your details are never sent to those sources. Word pronunciation uses your device's own voice.

How long we keep it

We keep your data while you have an account. You can download a copy any time in Settings → Your data. When you delete your account (Settings → Account → Delete my account), we remove your account, everything in it, your group messages and files, and any group you created. That happens straight away.

Your rights

You can see, download, correct and delete your data yourself inside the app. If you want anything else, such as a question answered or help deleting something, email us at hello@studenthabits.com. If you live in the EU or UK, you can also complain to your local data protection authority.

Younger students

StudentHabits is made for high-school and university students. You need to be at least 13 to make an account. In some countries the age is higher (up to 16 in parts of Europe); if you're under that age where you live, ask a parent or guardian before you sign up.

Changes

If we change this policy, we'll update the date at the top. If a change matters a lot, we'll tell you in the app first.
